how many people make a resolution each year? How many of those same people break that resolution within the first month? I personally never make a new year’s resolution. I don’t see the need. for some people this is a way of setting goals, but oftentimes these goals are either too broad or too unrealistic to actually follow through on. On the first of every new year I take stock of what happened the previous year. Good and bad. I then form the next year’s activities based on that. This is a way for me to evaluate where I am and where I need or think I should be. For me it is better than making a resolution or unrealistic goal that I won’t reach and then face that disappointment.
I know I know you’re thinking ‘well isn’t that a resolution’? Not really, you see i’m not making goals based on what I want to do I’m making goals based on what I have already done. I’m just building on the blocks of earlier success as opposed to knocking down the house and starting over every year. To me that’s what a resolution is. It’s like instead of improving on the current structure you’re knocking it down just to start all over. Don’t do it to yourself. Just take the foundation that you’ve already built and improve on it. It’s less stressful that way and there’s less chance for failure.
I’m just sayin’
