Have you ever tried to do something and it never happened the way you wanted to?
You knew you had all the steps right and everything was PERFECT! But to your dismay the outcome was not what you expected. It was…in so many words a failure?
So what do you do after you tried so many times and failed?
Do you give up? Or Do you try again?
Jill Scott has a song by the name of “Try”…
The Chorus goes:
If you want it to happen baybay
Hold fast and believe
You can make it happen baybay
You can be where u pleaze
All you gotta do is try
Then try once again
Then try a few more times
Then try after then
Now they say the act of doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different outcome is insanity. So why would you constantly try? My question is whose strength and guidance are you leaning on while you are trying? Is it your own or the Lord?
If you aren’t leaning on the Lord, that might be your problem and what is causing your frustrations. For instance ask Simon Peter the expert fisherman in Luke Chapter 5.
In verse 5 Simon states: And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.
Being the expert fisherman he was, on a regular night Simon Peter would’ve given up, thrown in the towel, came to shore…etc.
However this night was different. Jesus was with him and he (Simon Peter) leaned on his Master for strength and direction. Needless to say Simon Peter and his men caught enough fish for all the ships he had in the water, almost to the point that they sank.
So I leave you with these words from Jill Scott:
Now as a grown woman I still stumble and fall
But with a lot of FAITH and the same amount of effort
I can withstand it all
Remember to Try, try, try and try again! But make sure that you are using God’s strength and not your own!
Hint: If you start of trying with the Lord, you might not have to try as much.
