Talk to the hand.

Talk to the hand.

Here are a couple of news stories that have been on the tube lately, and here is my take on them.
  • Sarah Palin delivered the keynote address at the Tea Party Convention in Nashville. Besides the usual conservative red meat and intolerance dished out, there was something funny that happened. After giving her speech off of her notes, former Gov. Palin took questions from the moderator, and there was something wrong. It seemed like Sarah was looking at her hands before questions, and even answering them before they were asked. To see her hand, check out the Huffington Post for the pictures and video. It’s just too good. Unbelievable. Sarah Palin criticizes President Obama for using teleprompters, and then not only reads her whole speech statically off notes, but writes her answers to questions on her hands like a child cheating on a civics test. Besides her ultra-right-wing crazyness and complete lack of actual political skill, Sarah Palin is just straight up stupid. I can’t think of a better word.
  • A new article from the New York Times reports that American universities are becoming increasingly female-dominant, and as a result changing social dating fabric. Most universities now have 60-40 ratios of men to women, as a result creating more women seeking men than the latter, giving men more power when it comes to deciding relationship terms. According to the article, this puts guys in a position to play the field, and tends to mean that even the ones willing to make a commitment come with storied romantic histories. Rachel Sasser, a senior history major at the table, said that before she and her boyfriend started dating, he had “hooked up with a least five of my friends in my sorority — that I know of.”
  • This is pretty hilarious. After all of the sex scandals and horrific news stories that he has gone through, is it possible for John Edwards to make a comeback? In short, no. Probably one of the worst role models I’ve EVER seen, John Edwards has forsaken his public image, and is the worst of the worst when it comes to callous, egotistical, and narcissistic politicians. I don’t want him back, and neither does America.
  • As for tonight, I’m happy to be on the newest bandwagon in sports, Who Dat Nation! Geaux Saints! As for a prediction, I’m feeling Saints 23 Colts 20 Manning throws 1 INT, Reggie Bush shows us who he really is and gets some long runs, and Drew Brees shows America the amazing quarterback he can be.

That’s all for this week folks. As for me, I’ve had a hectic couple of months, but I’m feeling good about where I am in my life, and I am enjoying the ride for now.
